Do's and Don'ts
The following is meant to be a guideline of do’s and don’ts for Covington Lake Property Owners. It is NOT meant to replace or supersede Covington lake Covenants, Bylaws, or Design Guidelines.
Do:
- Do visit our Covington Lake website frequently to stay on top of the latest news, events, and happenings in the neighborhood (http://www.covingtonlakepoa.com).
- Do read, understand, and comply with the Covenants, Bylaws, and Design Guidelines, which can be found on the Covington Lake website (in the “At a Glance” section). Failure to follow the Covenants, Bylaws, and Design Guidelines may result in the assessment of fines on your property.
- Do get approval BEFORE beginning any construction or landscaping project. No construction that may alter your home’s appearance should be done without approval from the Architectural Review Committee (ARC). This includes, but is not limited to pools, fences, walls, children’s play sets, and major landscaping (e.g. trees, etc.). When in doubt ask. We are here to help you! You can find instructions and information on ARC forms and processes on the Covington Lake website (in the “At a Glance” section).
- Do maintain your property in a neat and orderly fashion. This helps all of us maintain pride in our community.
- Do be respectful of your neighbors by keeping your pets contained, picking up their waste, and obeying the noise ordinance.
- Do bring your garbage can inside; garbage cans should not be visible from the street. They may be placed at curbside the day of pickup, but they must be removed from curbside the same day garbage is picked up.
- Do ensure that your mailbox is maintained and conforms to community guidelines. All mailboxes must conform in color and style as set forth by the Association. These specifications are listed on the Covington Lake website (in the “At a Glance” section).
- Do follow pool rules, which can be found on the Covington Lake website (in the “At a Glance” section). The community pool is for residents and their guests. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Do not:
- Do not set off fireworks at any time; we are a FIREWORKS FREE neighborhood. This means NO FIREWORKS can be set off at any time!
- Do not post signs; posting of signs is not allowed in Covington Lake.
- Do not use clothes lines; clothes lines are not permitted in yards.
- Do not park overnight (or allow guests to park overnight) on the street; there is no overnight parking of any vehicle on the streets. There are free overnight parking spaces at the pool parking lot for your guest.
- Do not use lake water to irrigate your lawn. If you choose to sprinkler your yard you are not allowed to pull water from the lakes.
- Do not swim or boat in the lakes.
